Project Overview

The WMS (Warehouse Management System) is a proprietary warehouse management system that has been built with the help of ASP.NET Core 9 and .NET Blazor. The system aims to automate all the processes related to warehouse activities, which include inbound and outbound material handling, inventory management, batch and serial management, warehouse moves, location management, and physical inventory.

The system has tight integration with the current DBM module to ensure smooth data synchronization between warehouse activities and master data. The system strictly follows business validations in terms of storage capacity, batch consistency, expiry validation, compatibility of the item, and accurate inventory.

Project Objectives

  • Automate and optimize warehouse processes such as material entry, exit, compaction, transfers, and inventory.
  • Provide real-time and traceable movement of goods across warehouse locations.
  • Enable accurate batch and serial number tracking throughout warehouse operations.
  • Ensure seamless communication and data exchange with the existing DBM module.
  • Enforce business rules for storage capacity, item compatibility, batch consistency, and expiry compliance.
  • Improve inventory accuracy through automated reconciliation and adjustment workflows.
  • Maintain complete historical records for auditing and operational transparency.

Business Challenges

1. Manual and Complicated Warehouse Processes

Performing inbound, outbound, transfers, inventories, and adjustments in a manual manner might lead to process delays, inaccuracies in the records, and more paperwork. A centralized warehouse management system is necessary to perform those tasks automatically.

2. Absence of Real-Time Updates on Inventories

In order to perform their job properly, the warehouse workers require accurate information regarding the available stocks, their location in the warehouse, batch number, and movements. Delay in updating inventories can lead to inaccurate levels of stocks and inefficient warehouse management.

3. Complicated Batch and Serial Numbers Management

It is difficult to track products throughout the different warehouse processes due to the fact that some products are divided into batches, partial loads, or have serial numbers.

4. Capacity and Compatibility Issues with Warehouse Locations

Different locations of the warehouses have different capacities, priorities, and compatibility. It is important to make sure that the product will not be assigned to inappropriate locations.

5. Ensuring Data Consistency in Different Systems

WMS should interact with the existing DBM module and at the same time keep the consistency of the data within the warehouse and master data modules.

Our Solutions

In order to solve issues associated with the complexity of operations in warehouses, inaccuracy of inventory, and system integration issues, our dedicated development team has designed a central WMS based on ASP.NET Core 9 and the Blazor framework. In addition, the proposed solution will automate the following warehouse operations: inbound and outbound operations, transfer, inventory, movement adjustment, and location compacting.

The proposed solution will enable real-time tracking of inventory with the use of batches and serial numbers, as well as automated validation of storage capacity, expiry, batches, and compatibility of items. Furthermore, the solution will be integrated with the DBM module.

Key Benefits

  • Automatic processing of warehouse inward and outward processes
  • Increase in accuracy of inventory counts and stock tracking
  • Batch & Serial Number Traceability
  • Effective planning of warehouse location and storage space
  • Prevent creation of invalid or excessive allocations to the warehouse
  • Integrates warehouse data with the DBM module
  • Maintains complete record of all movements
  • Facilitates ease in inventory adjustments
  • Audit-proof warehouse operations
  • Creates the platform for future warehousing automation
