Customer:
Our client is a U.S.-based startup focused on helping busy professionals find meaningful relationships. Before approaching us, they used to run a small matchmaking consultancy and offer personalized match recommendations offline and through email. As they have been doing this since few years, they already made a loyal customer base due to good results.
But with the increase in online dating and match-making platforms, traditional methods were not very useful. This is when they decide to develop a matrimony mobile app and enter the matrimonial market with advanced functionality according to today’s times. As the client belongs to a non-tech background, they wanted to understand various questions such as:
- Is building a matrimonial app profitable in 2025 and beyond?
- What business model works best for a matrimonial app?
- How is a matrimonial app different from a dating app?
- What are the major challenges in launching a matrimony app startup?
- How long does it cost to build a matrimonial app?
- How long does it take to launch a matrimonial app?
Their goal was to create a matrimony service app where users could find compatible matches efficiently, engage through chat and video, and feel confident about privacy and data security. As this matrimony application solution is for a US audience, the client also mentioned to provide advanced filtering, trendy features, and a good cross-platform experience.
Challenges:
As the leading mobile app development company, we have developed many of the best mobile app concepts for technical and non-technical clients. The technical and business side of this custom matrimonial app development was unique in its challenges.
From the business perspective, our client had no internet presence in the form of a website or app until now; everything was offline by phone or email. So, before we commit to developing AI-based matrimonial apps, it is necessary to conduct detailed research on the needs of users in the U.S. dating and matrimonial market.
This was a professional-focused matrimony service app. We also categorized users based on busy schedules, preferences, and high expectations for privacy and reliability. We also planned for monetization strategies that attract paid subscriptions without deterring users.
From a development perspective, it was hard to construct accurate AI matchmaking algorithms. So we had to train the AI models to gather information about preferences, behavior, and compatibility so that they could make useful recommendations. The third biggest problem was a security issue surrounding sensitive personal data, such as profile information and contact history. The backend architecture needed to be strong and seamlessly integrated in real-time chat, video calling, and compatibility scoring. Scalability was also important since the platform must be able to handle a growing user base without affecting performance. Finally, designing and testing would take care to ensure users were guided through the creation of a user-friendly UI/UX that supported profile creation, search, and matchmaking while maintaining trust and engagement.
Solution:
To overcome these challenges, we developed an entire AI-powered matrimonial app for the U.S. market. We created a smart AI matchmaking algorithm that takes into account users’ preferences, behavior, and compatibility to provide us with a realistic and personalized match recommendation. We implemented profile verification, privacy controls, and end-to-end data encryption to create trust so that users could share sensitive information in confidence.
In this form of engagement, we implemented live chat, voice, and video calling, which allows users to talk directly via our platform. Advanced search and filtering on a preference basis allow users to quickly narrow down matches. Using the compatibility score feature made it much easier to make decisions about matches.
As a way of supporting growth, we implemented an on-demand backend framework that was scalable and could be run on the cloud to smooth out the journey as users grew. We also included subscription plans and in-app purchases to allow for monetization without compromising the user experience.
In summary, our solution broke the traditional line between offline matchmaking and modern technology, allowing the client to expand their reach, to increase efficiency, and to provide an engaging, reliable, and private environment for people who were looking for meaningful relationships.
Results:
Within the 5 months of launch, the client received noticeable results in their business and an appreciation in the match-making market. Here are the results after the app launch.
